Man vs. Mouse – A Typography Show

On October 27th, The Gallery is hosting an exhibit of Typography featuring seven designers to compare and contrast hand illustrated work and digital work. I feel privileged to be in a show with some incredible talent. I’ve admired much of their work. Guys like Josh Ruck have been killing it for years, and it’s good to see guys like Ian MacFarlane (a fellow ACAD graduate – who seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth) resurface for this show. I’m especially interested in what the hand illustrators have in store. Since I’ve recently felt the impact that solid typography and good concept can have, with my Daft Life Series, I’m sure a show like this in Calgary will turn some heads. Artist line up includes; Cody Swinkels, Davey Gravy, Ian Macfarlane, Jason Deary, Josh Ruck, Tiffany Wollman, and myself.

Studio Coalition INHALE: Toronto Exhibition 2011

On September 8. 2011, we hosted our first exhibition of the work we captured in the Dominican Republic last year. Myself, Derek Heisler, and Calvin Locke all managed to regroup over 2000kms away from Calgary during TIFF to showcase the work we had compiled. Our wonderful hosts Heather Robertson and Rachelle Wilde were a perfect fit. It was a great opportunitiy to catch up with all the people we had met last year. It was also an amazing night where we were able to connect with some of Toronto’s most talented creatives and industry elite. It was all a bit overwhelming, but exciting nonetheless.

Thursday June 16: Carlos Fauvrelle at Habitat Living Sound

This Thursday I have the pleasure of djing alongside Carlos Fauvrelle at Habitat Living Sound. It’s great to see artists like this coming through Calgary with a unique underground house sound. Definitely a night that will showcase big sounds in a small room. Is it worth kicking off the weekend early for? I’d think so.
